Warsaw looked awesome and deep tonight handling a hot-shooting , athletic Marion tonight 79-68. Warsaw was up 17 late in the game and puts subs in the last 2 minutes. Nic Moore was spectacular again with 27 points and 10 assists but had lots of help. Justin Clemens had 20 points on 9 of 10 shooting and had 7 assists himself. Sophomores Lucus Grose and Jordan Coon were both in double figures and starter Andy Conrad did not even play due to an injury. The Tigers play Plymouth (5-1 in the NLC) for all the marbles next Thursday. Plymouth is very solid and playing great lately, but I feel they don't have the depth and skill players that Warsaw does. That said, they play hard and very smart and will keep this game close as long as they can. Too bad it's on a Thursday night.

Last night was the first Warsaw game I have been to in 3 years. I can't explain to you how amazing this teams passing is. To say Nic Moore has matured is a huge understatement. He sees the floor better then anyone I have ever seen. When he touches the ball, 80% of the time, you are going to get a great shot, either from him, or a pass from him. Justin Clemens has improved so much all around. Great passing out of him last night to, but I was impressed on how he ran the floor, and in the half court offense continually found gaps in the Marion defense and knocked down 15 ft/65 ft shots! :)
That's not to say Warsaw doesn't have anyone else. Lucas Grose completely dominated the 3rd quarter of play. He does a great job of posting up big and strong for a sophomore. I will say that in order for him to stay out of foul trouble, and be affective on the defensive end, he has to start playing defense before his guy touches the ball. He still stands a bit to tall away from the ball on the defensive end, but as a sophomore, both him and Jordyn Coon have BRIGHT futures for the Tigers.

It was a good feeling leaving the Tiger Den last night. To many times in recent years, you had teams that were very individually oriented. There was more I then there was We. Last night, I felt as though we were watching a Tiger team of old. If they can continue to execute on offense, and keep playing tough, physical defense, the Tigers could have a good post season run.

nic moore is a very, very good high school point guard, but he is no where near the best point guard in the state.

he's top five in '11, though.

I havent really followed too closely, does anyone know if he has any college offers yet? A place like Ball State would seem to be a nice spot for him.

Other than Teague, who is better? I would go out on a limb and say he is for sure the best passer in the state.

Just in the '11 class? Or all 4 classes? If you are talking all four classes, he might not be in the Top 10.

Without putting much thought into it, Dee Davis and Jalen Packer are ahead of him (other than Teague) in '11. He'd probably slot 4-6 in his class.

I'm looking at this from the perspective of playing at college, which might not have been the perspective of the original poster.

I gave it some thought.

1. Teague
2. Davis
3. Packer
4. Moore
5. Marlin

After that point, there are 5-6 that are sort of interchangeable, ranging from the L+ level to D2. Jeremiah Davis would be 3rd or 4th, if you think he'll stick at the 1.

I can respect the Southern Bias, but Jalen Packer is no where near the passer Nic is. I got to see him play 3 times last year. He's bigger, thus getting more oppurtunities to score inside, but I would say Nic is a better shooter as well. I haven't seen any better all around player in the state then Nic is.
