Heritage Hills a work in progress

2 posts in this topic

The young Patriots lost twice this weekend losing by 4 points at home to Day school and 4 points on the road at Northeast Dubois and are now 0-3 but the losses have been by a combined 15 points.

Starting point guard Mitchel Becher didn't play this weekend after getting injured in practice which was a tough break for a team that was inexperienced to began with.

Mason Becher the lone returning starter has been the one consistence factor on offense averaging 16.0 points per game and has hit double figures all 3 games.

Against Dubois we finally had more then one or two players in double figures with Becher having 14, Doyle 14, Meunier 12 and Selvidge 10.

We hit 10 three pointers going 10 of 19 and had first decent free throw shooting night going 8 of 11.

I'm hoping we start going inside more and would love to see 6'5" Carter Meunier get promoted to full time varsity if they start using C. Meunier and 6'4" Gabe Hitz more inside it would open things up for the shooters Hitz is 5 of 8 and the younger Meunier 1 for 1 shooting but not used enough, Just one fans opinion.

This team plays as hard as any we have had in some time and have potential just need experience and to get the younger Becher back.

JV won both games this weekend and are 2-1 after losing the opener.

HH has a lot of talent coming up in the Freshman, 8th, and 7th grade classes. We've heard it a lot before about younger classes and good talent at HH, but hopefully we will see some good success over the next several years on the basketball court. Time will tell....
