H Hills wins at Jasper for 1st time since 03-04 season.

Tough game as always tonight at Jasper the Patriots led 19-15 after one quarter, it was 38-31 HH after 2, after 3 it was HH 53 Jasper 53 and the final was HH 57 Jasper 55. Patriots only score 4 points in 4th quarter but that was twice as many as Jasper's 2.

Heritage Hills hit 9 three pointers tonight in the win and had good scoring from the bench for the 2nd straight game.

HH improves to 12-4 and after 7 straight losing seasons prior to last season tonight's win clinched the 2nd straight winning record for the Patriots.

Patriot sixth man left the game in the 1st quarter and a starter left the game in the 4th so hopefully both will be ok.

HH Scoring:Merder 18, Minto 13, Schaefer 9, Zoglman 5 ( new career high), Scherry 4, Ward 3, Crane 3 and Collins 2 and Sabelhaus played did not score.

Patriot JV lost 44-34 to fall to 11-2 on the season.

Exciting game last night I thought we had a lead after 3 when Merder went down and hit a big three but jasper rushed down the floor and answered with a three also to keep the score tied going to the 4th then in the 4th it was a turnover fest with neither team getting many shots off.

The Princeton-HH is setting up to be a great matchup

If Devon Merder scores around his season average through the next 3 games there is a good chance he could top 1000 points in the Princeton game, That would be pretty cool to happen on Senior night.

Princeton has games against SS(13th), Jasper(18th), Central(22), HH(25) and Evansville Day(28)

HH could be 15-4 and Princeton 16-4 heading into February 25

Good win for the Patriots, never easy beating Jasper at Jasper. Agreed the Princeton / HH game looks to be a good one.

It was very well played game until the fourth quarter . Why does a coach set down a player who was on fire in the 3rd quarter ? Nolan Ahrens was having a career game up to the 4th quarter and then did not even get a shot. The Merder kid has a great shot . Over all HH is a balanced team . Cannot wait to see the draw for the sectional . What do HH fans think of having a sectional at Jasper

Not many shots in the 4th from any players for either team because it turned into a turnover fest with few shots taken.

As far as hosting sectional if they would have added around 1000 more seats I would be all for it because love the parking but the new Jasper gym is listed at 4800, Southridge 6092 and Washington 7090 even Vincennes at 5466 holds more making Jasper just the 4th largest gym in the sectional field and I would hate to find tickets unavailable because they gave it to a gym under 5000.

Sign above concession stand at Jasper says maximum capacity is 5930.

I'm just going by capacity listed in article in newspaper when gym opened and capacity listed on John Harrells site. But being in Jaspers new gym and Southridge it looks like no possible way Southridge only holds 162 more.

Sign above concession stand at Jasper says maximum capacity is 5930.

The Jasper AD told me the 5930 capacity would include floor seating in a concert-type setting. He said the seating for basketball is 4800.

Thanks for the clarification.
