Woooe Did anyone see this one coming? Wow that is devastating for carmel basketball fans and the team in general. If you ask me though its a great move by hammons. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? The rise of AAU prominence or the fall of the IHSAA tournament?
As far back as 1974, I remember playing in a small AAU tournament in the spring after the eighth-grade season. I had no idea then how AAU would come to dominate the landscape of basketball.

I've got to think the current status and reputation of Carmel basketball may have played a roll in this decision. A.J. can't do any better in a public education forum than CHS. But, I think it's going to take some time for the program in general to recover from this past year.
